Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card

American Express Delta SkyMiles Platinum Card
LIMITED TIME OFFER

This channel: up to 90,000 Delta miles + a $300 statement credit

Make $4,000 in eligible net purchases within 6 months from account opening. The actual miles offered are disclosed after application submission and before approval and card acceptance; they may be below the maximum and are not guaranteed for everyone. Eligible net purchases on primary and additional cards are combined, but only the primary cardholder receives the reward. Refunds are deducted; fees, interest, cash advances, travelers checks, prepaid cards, gift cards, person-to-person transfers and cash equivalents are excluded. Rewards post about 8–12 weeks after qualification, potentially in installments; the account must not be closed or past due when they post. Card-delivery/merchant-submission delays may shorten the period; insufficient credit may require a payment first. Abuse or returns used to obtain rewards may result in reclaimed rewards and account closure. Previous holders of Delta Platinum, Reserve or earlier versions may be ineligible. Amex also considers balance transfers and cardholding/account-opening/closing history. You will be notified of welcome-offer ineligibility before application processing and may withdraw. This offer is limited to this advertising channel and is nontransferable. It ends 2026/11/04 at 23:59 MST and may be changed/withdrawn earlier.

Frequently asked questions and card tips

It can be very worthwhile. The annual-renewal domestic companion certificate can be used for Main Cabin round-trip tickets, including Mexico, the Caribbean and other eligible regions, typically valued at $250 to $500+ and potentially offsetting the annual fee. The $150 Delta Stays booking credit, monthly $10 Uber/Lyft credit ($120 annually) and monthly $10 Resy dining credit ($120 annually) total up to $390 in credits, making the card worthwhile with some use.

The companion certificate is issued after payment of the second-year annual fee at renewal, directly to your Delta account. Purchase a round-trip domestic Main Cabin ticket, including the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean and other included regions. Your companion receives another ticket while paying only applicable government taxes and fees of about $6 to $80.

Delta Medallion Status is based on annual Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD). Entry-level Silver requires 5,000 MQD and Gold requires 10,000 MQD. This card provides $2,500 MQD at the start of each year, leaving 2,500 MQD to earn for Silver. If you hold other cobranded cards such as Delta Reserve, the credits can be combined, offering a shortcut toward higher status.

Yes. After holding the card for a year, if the $350 annual fee is too high, contact customer service to downgrade to Delta Gold with a lower $150 annual fee or no-annual-fee Delta Blue. Your credit history is retained after the downgrade, and accumulated Delta miles do not expire.

It is a strong offer. During the past 365 days, Delta Platinum offered 100,000-mile promotions twice, in months 1–4 and 6–7 of 2026, requiring $6,000 in spending across two tiers (estimated value about $1,200). The current promotion requires $4,000 within the first 6 months for 90,000 miles (estimated at $1,080) plus a $300 statement credit, for a combined value of $1,380. This lowers the spending requirement by $2,000 and provides the highest actual reward value in the past 1 year.
